When to Book Christmas Light Installation in Delaware and Southern PA
Nobody wants to think about December in August. We get it. But the honest answer to "when should I call you" is right now, and here's why.
The calendar fills backward from Thanksgiving
Almost everyone wants the same thing: lights on before Thanksgiving so the house is glowing when family pulls in the driveway. That means the last week of October and the first two weeks of November are the busiest stretch of our entire year, and those dates get claimed first.
Across the industry the pattern is the same everywhere. Books open in late summer. September is when schedules start tightening. By mid to late October the prime install weeks are gone, and a lot of companies treat October 1 as the hard cutoff for guaranteeing a preferred date.
We're a father-and-son crew, not a franchise with twelve trucks. That's the whole reason the work looks the way it does, and it's also the reason our calendar has a real ceiling on it.
What booking early actually gets you
- You pick your install week instead of taking what's left.
- You get a real design conversation. Walking a property in September, in daylight, with no pressure, is a completely different experience than a rushed November estimate in the cold. Rooflines, dormers, columns, walkway trees, the wreath over the garage — that all gets decided properly instead of on the fly.
- We measure and order the right material for your house. Every job is cut to your roofline, so the linear footage has to be right before product gets pulled.
- If you're doing more than one property, or coordinating with family nearby, early booking is the only way that gets scheduled cleanly.
The case for not doing it yourself
This part isn't a sales pitch, it's just the data.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission estimates about 14,900 people were treated in emergency departments for holiday decorating injuries during the 2023 season. That works out to roughly 160 a day across the season, and more than 40% of them are falls.
Ladders on wet leaves. Ladders on frozen ground. Ladders leaned against gutters that weren't built to take the load. December in Delaware is not ladder weather, and a roofline install means you're up there twice, once in November and once in January.
Our holiday light installation is all-inclusive for a reason. Design, install, season-long service if a run goes dark, takedown in January, and storage until next year. You never touch a ladder, a bin, or a burned-out bulb.

The heaviest early demand is usually in Newark, North Wilmington, and New Castle, with the MOT corridor close behind in Odessa and Townsend.
Over the line in Pennsylvania we're routing through Kennett Square, West Chester, Garnet Valley, Landenberg, and Avondale. Routing matters more than people realize — clustered jobs get better install windows.
